The versatile C-130 was originally designed during the 1950's as an assault transport plane, but over the years, was adapted for more types of missions. The incredible versatility of the C-130 design has been used in special ops (low-level and attack), close air support, mid-air space capsule recovery, search-and-rescue, fire-fighting, and relief missions. The C-130 is one of the great American aeronautical achievements. The C-130 has accumulated over 20 million flight-hours and currently is used in more than 60 countries. With such tremendous recognition and staggering workhorse performance, Advanced Scale Models worked for years to achieve a model worthy of the C-130. With a giant 100-inch wingspan and optional retracts, this model features genuine scale realism with multi-engine excitement! This incredible model features a lightweight, painted, carbon-reinforced molded fuselage over a balsa/ply internal structure. It also has factory-built wings and tail covered in heat shrink film, and comes with a comprehensive hardware package. The engineers at ASM have produced this 100-inch wingspan C-130 to handle many different power plants including brushless motors, two-stroke 25-32s, or four-stroke 30s. Minimum 5-Channel radio is required, but for the modeler who has a real passion for the C-130, ASM has designed a retract system for even greater realism (retracts sold separately) which requires a 6th channel.
