Easy to Operate

This kit builds into an "operating model" of an oscillating single cylinder steam engine. The engine has three moving parts that require only occasional lubri-cation. The boiler is maintenance free. The engine and boiler are attractively and securely mounted on a 3" x 5" mahogany base, which is included in this kit. Operation is as simple as spinning the flywheel to start the engine. The engine also features single screw adjustment of the steam valve. All phases of operation and maintenance are covered in the Success Series Construction Manual included with this kit.

Warning: This kit requires the use of a propane torch for assembly and an open flame for operation. It is not recommended for children.

Designed for Safe, Trouble-free Operation

This kit features an insulated heavy copper boiler. As an added safety feature, the insulation is wrapped in brass and further insulated with mahogany trim pieces. The engines main shaft turns in brass bushings that give this engine many hours of trouble-free operation. The Model VI Steam Engine uses "sterno" to heat the boiler and make steam. The engine will run approx-imately 10 to 15 minutes on one charge of water and sterno.
