Great buggy Review by Chris

I bought this after running the HPI sprint for about 6 months. I wanted something offroad and could not pass up a $300 bl buggy. I have had so much fun with this buggy, last week I went to Revelation Raceway and raced on the track. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What's crazy is my wife wants a buggy too. (Posted on 3/20/14)
handles revelation with no problems Review by Tony

bought this buggy to race with friends (this is my first rc) and I havent broken anything yet. Buggy is fast and handles the jumps better than I do. I am a beginner and the optimus is great for me. Definitely need more batteries and better charger. (Posted on 12/31/13)

this is my 10th truck and I now work at a hobby store, this is the way to go, traxxas and redcat are crap compared to this hunk of metal. do your home work, everyday someone comes in because the traxxas is ALL PLASTIC drive shafts and shocks, the optimus has big bore shocks , sway bar all metal chassis etc etc etc, check it out if u don't believe me. and at the end of the day it is 1/2 the cost of traxxas and u can find someone to help u on the phone...do your homework, don't listen to me go touch it and u will see the difference (Posted on 12/16/13)
Having a blast! Review by KayDee

I am very new to the RC world a rookie to be in fact! I bought this so I can play with my son and I wouldn't bother him with his car. I quickly found out that this car is worth the money I paid for it!! I've had this car only a week and have been back to the hobby people to fix it 3 times. I'm not complaining because I need to surely learn how to control the speed of this vehicle. Like some one states in one of the reviews up top this car is not built for taking a stronge hit to the front of it. I've broken my A-arm, the gear box twice, bent a couple of pins and snapped the screws that hold the gear boss in its place. All and all they are easy fixed as long as the gears in the box are not broken its easy to fix a $8 part and the screws are 4 bucks. With all this I've learned how to fix this car and I've had plenty of fun driving it and fixing it. FYI they have change the screws for the bottom of the gear box so it's stronger now!! Lovin it Review by nvogre

Wish I would have found this first. Sure isn't like my old rc's, love the run time on the lipo batteries. Buggy is fast, very entertaining. I like it so much I am looking at the 1/10 truggy next. 4 wheel drive 1/8 scale, and what is not to like at this price. I am telling all my friends about it. I do not use the included charger, and I recharge a full charge in close to 30 minutes to and hour. Only thing I am trying to do is figure the fail safe, cause if I test it by shutting the radio off, the car does not stop like the instructions say that it should. Doesn't matter to me though, I am still so impressed I cant say enough good about it. (Posted on 10/9/13)
not a solid car Review by hobby pro

this buggy front diff is only held from moving side to side by four screws ...once u take a hit in the front they shear off..a perfect design if u want to keep people buying parts....i used it one time at the track and it broke..its a money pit dont get fooled, put your money into a name brand one... 1st time DHK...thinking if I should have sticked with Tamiya or Traxxas.... Review by Alfred

I got this when it was on special, Actually my wife got it for me as a gift. As the instructions say...check that all screws are tight...they were. I first drove it on the street...wow...the power, then we went into an dirt area...wow...those rocks flew...(do not wear shorts) LOL It was fun, My daughter did donuts on it. Then It was my turn again, drove it wow...dirt flying everywhere it was great. Then I heard a BUR BUR BUR BUR noise...something was wrong..it would only do it going fwd. Took off the body, and there was a grease substance on the body, like grease...then next to the motor/center differential, then under closer look, the center differential, something was sticking out...it broke...I was like what, did a rock go in-between it...nope, no scratches...it was internally, something may have come loose and broke it...I notified DHK via Email, then looked at their website, basically, they do not sent parts/sell parts. So I contacted Hobby People via Email, they were sorry and sent me a replacement part..within 2 days I had it...but now I see that the left front axle where it looks like a T it is missing the T part and my 4wd is a 3wd...waiting on the response from Hobby People, I sent them an Email yesterday. So far they have been great. Other than that, once I get it fixed again, it should go great!! Also, out of the box...it may have been upside down during storage/transportation, but front shocks may have been leaking...the box looked oily...Will give DHK another try...at least till I get my left front axle... Just got mine today, seems decent..if I could run it. Right out of the box, my left front shock was leaking and doesn't work right so..hopefully can get a replacement so I can actually run it. (Posted on 5/11/13)
Great Fun for Value, Took a BEATING Review by Deh AE

I have had this for about a week now, taking it out every day on a steep dirt circle track. i have flipped this thing I even let my friend drive it who floored it right into a parked car. The only damage to the buggy is the antenna as it has flipped over many times. This thing is fun, goes pretty fast. It is more fun to drive off roading that it is to drive in empty parking lots etc. One negative thing however is the charge time - litterally it takes 8 hours to charge the battery, but it is still worth it because the battery lasts so long ! I can ride it hard up hill, full power for about 30 minutes then it dies. Overall , I am a happy camper @ 299 (Posted on 4/26/13)

Just bought it at my LHS, and I am told I am the 1st sale of DHK at his shop. I went in to buy a bandit vxl and after seeing the optimus it was a no brainer. Ran it this morning and it is fast, and blew away my friends bandit. I'm running 3s 5000s from by Slash and its a bullet. Really impressive. (Posted on 9/15/12)
