Revell 1/72 F-22 Raptor
The finest in 21st century tech.
Design work on the F-22 Raptor started in 1984 at the request of the U.S. Air Force for an Advanced Tactical Fighter to replace the existing F-15 Eagle. The resulting F-22 is the most advanced and most expensive fighter jet in the world. It is made with the most sophisticated flight control systems and materials that have ever been developed. In additional it has a stealth like quality and cannot be detected on radar. The production F-22 was delivered in January of 2003. Originally designed as an air superiority fighter, the F-22 has expanded to the role of a ground attack aircraft. All of the F-22 attack weapons are stored internally which helps it to avoid radar detection. In addition the F-22 has vectored thrusters which give it the ability to virtually fly straight up from a stationary position
Marketed by Lockheed Martin® as "today's best overall fighter," the first F-22 Raptors were delivered in January 2003. F-22s are equipped with highly advanced, dual afterburning Pratt & Whitney® F119-PW-100 turbofan engines. Maximum speed is estimated at Mach 1.82 in "super-cruise" mode. All Raptors have three internal weapons bays within the aircraft's fuselage. The final, 187th operational F-22 Raptor was unveiled at Dobbins Air Reserve Base on December 13, 2011. Kit features positional rear thrust deflectors and horizontal stabilizers, plus decals with graphics featuring every current F-22 squadron commander's aircraft.
