Scale DragStrip Dominator Review by Garfield
Rating
After a 16 year wait ( Revell-Monogram had this kit in their 1996 catalogue , but it never materalised !) , I can say that I'm pleased overall with this kit in spite of of its inaccuracies .

The moulds are crisp , even after ~17 years of age ( the original R-M Dart was the '69 GTS 383 from c.1994 ) ; and the new , additional parts are excellent !

Lots of mixing and matching is possible with this kit . There are two complete motors ( which are married to a transmission ) ; a 'generic' B/RB motor representing a 383 or 440 is attached to an automatic , and a 426 Race Hemi replete with the crossram induction , is attached to a 4-speed trans .
Adding the 383/440 top end to the Hemi block will yield a 4-speed -backed big block ; adding the Hemi heads and intake to the 383/440 block will make a TorqueFlite-equipped "SS/AA" replica .

The decals are very nice and neat . Included decals are : instrument clustre
( speedometre , tachometre , etc. ) ; "GTS" badges ; stock GTS "Bumblebee Stripe" in white or black ; and decals for a fictitious SS/B racer .

Wheels and tyres are quite nice . The stock GTS arrangement includes replicas of the stock '68 / '69 Dart GTS wheel covers ; and the Hemi models' Cragar-esque wheels look tasteful , and are period-correct ( thank God R-M didn't make Centerlines for this kit !! ) .
Rear drag slicks are very nice M&H "Racemaster" , and are worth the purchase price alone !

While this kit has its faults ( what kit doesn't ? ) , they do not detract from an otherwise fine effort by the long-standing Revell-Monogram .
"Purist-types" such as myself ( and other MoPar heads ) can easily correct these flaws . Matter of fact , they're so minor that I'm not even going to point them out .

Highly Recommended Kit ! (Posted on 5/13/11)
