Developed in 1991, the RAH-66 Comanche was a two-seat, armed reconnaissance helicopter designed especially for tactical intelligence. Radar-absorbent materials and stealth technologies, such as a retractable main gun and weapons stations, made it virtually impossible for enemies to detect. Despite some successful prototypes, the project was canceled by the Pentagon in 2004.
