Magnum XLS .25A

Two-Stroke R/C Aircraft Engine with Remote Needle Valve

This is a Magnum XLS .25A Two-Stroke R/C Aircraft Engine with Remote Needle Valve. This Magnum .25 size engine is affordable, lightweight and powerful. It's legal-sized for most competitive events in this size range, so it's perfect for competitive pilots, and because it uses Magnum's XLS design technology, pilots will find this engine much easier to tune.

The XLS .25A is a single cylinder, two-stroke engine incorporating ABC (Aluminum piston, Brass sleeve with Chrome plating) technology for long life, high power output and easy break-in. The engine features a dual needle valve carburetor for precise fuel/airflow metering, an optional rear-mounted needle valve, dual ball bearing-supported crankshaft, dual bushing-supported connecting rod, and a high-flow quiet muffler. This combination of power and reliability makes the XLS .25A a perfect engine for this class size of competition Combat flying.

Your Magnum XLS series engine was designed by expert engineers and built by master craftsmen using only the highest quality materials and CNC machinery. These qualities provide the long life and dependability you have come to expect from an engine of this caliber. Magnum XLS Series are true ABC engines with true hard chrome plated (not nickel) brass cylinder sleeves for longest service life. Front rotor Schneurle porting optimizes power and efficiency of the two-stroke design, and aerospace quality steel ball bearings reduce friction to maximize RPM and power.

Magnum has been bringing you high performance engines at an affordable price for more than 20 years! During that time the line has grown and expanded to offer a full line of 4-stroke and 2-stroke engines. And, all are made from the finest materials on the latest machinery. Plus, you get the added security of a full one-year warranty that protects you from any manufacturing defects and or premature wear (crash damage not covered). For reliability, high quality, and performance the choice is MAGNUM!

bought 2 at the same time. One runs absolutely great, the other won't stay running. resealed backplate, new tank, hoses, glow, fuel. Nothing seems to help. Dies after a minute or so. (Posted on 5/15/14)

I just realized that the review hyperlink above was on my Mig-3. See I really like this engine. Good article and review by Todd Melton (RCCA# 290).

Outstanding Engine Review by Combat Crazy

I was concerned at first since the 2nd engine I bought blew up on the second tank of gas during break-in. The bottom of the connecting rod fell apart. It wasn’t lean which was obvious when the Hobby People employee took the back plate off. It was replaced on the spot. Excellent customer service H.P.

I have several of them and they are just crazy fast. It’s almost too fast for combat when I’m flying with competitors who are still using their old tired OS FXs. I easily blow past them exposing my streamer so I have to throttle back. I have an OS-25XS which cost too @$%# much and it’s slower than the Magnum. OS you are losing market shares (duh, losing).

great engine Review by rcjetflyer1

great engine, I orginally purchased 2 engines and installed them on a Twinstar; they were at least 15mph faster than the magnum 25XL I have ben flying the 25XLS engines for the past 4 months and they are still running great, also they have seals in the muffler joint so they don't leak. I like them so much I purchased 2 more; I plan to put all 4 on a 90" B-17 (Posted on 5/10/11)
Excellent engine, well finished and runs well out of the box Review by Flyingkiw!

Used 2 of these engines for Classic B controlline team racing to replace the OS 25 FX. Performed as well as or better than the FX, very good quality workmanship through out and unlike the FX it is true ABC construction. Liked the clamped venturi attachment, that is an excellent feature. Running at APC 7x7 on 20 nitro and getting >21,000 RPM on the ground. (Posted on 3/9/11)
