ORDERING QUESTIONS

How can I place an order?

You can place an order in any of several ways:

1.Through the www.hobbypeople.net web page and shopping cart.

Our system is certified and approved to meet or exceed the electronic credit card processing standards, data encryption technology, and information handling procedures. Security of your personal information is our top priority.

2. Telephone

Please call us between 9AM - 3PM PST, Monday-Friday. For USA residents, call toll-free at 800-854-8471. For foreign orders, please call 714-963-9881.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express credit cards, personal checks, and money orders. For check and money order payments, we may require up to 10 days to verify funds before processing the order.

What information is required to place an order?

We will need the following information to process an order:

1. Your name, billing address (for credit card orders), day-time phone number, and (optional) email address.

2. The shipping address. Note that orders by new customers using a credit card must ship to the billing address or a verifiable work address. After becoming an established customer, orders can be sent to a different address.

3. A list of the items you want. Having the Hobby People item numbers or manufacturer numbers will reduce the time it takes to place your order, especially via phone.

4. For payment with a credit card, we will need the account number, expiration date, and 3-digit CID number from the back of the card (AMEX has 4 digits on the front).

If your method of payment is check or money order, please include CA or NV tax if your order is shipping to either of those states as well as shipping charges. If you are unsure of the tax rate or available shipping methods and charges, please contact us for assistance.

What does Hobby People do to make sure my credit card data is safe?

Hobby People takes aggressive steps to deter fraudulent credit card use. From the moment we take your credit card information that data is encrypted and protected. Our system is certified and approved to meet or exceed the electronic credit card processing standards, data encryption technology, and information handling procedures. Security of your personal information is our top priority.

As part of our fraud protection, we ask that customers make sure that the billing name and address match those on file with the credit card issuer.

If an order is flagged for review, whether because the billing address does not match or because of other inconsistencies in the information you supply, the order will be delayed, and may be canceled at our discretion without notice.

How can I change an order?

Once an order is placed, items can not be added or deleted.

However, depending on the origin and status of the order in our system, we can cancel the original order and re-process it with the desired changes. The authorization for a canceled order will persist at your bank for a few days, however.

Because we begin processing your order immediately after receiving it, changes or cancellation may not always be possible depending on how much time has elapsed.

We recommend calling the order department as soon as possible regarding changes to your order. The order department can be reached at 800-854-8471 ext 1, 7AM-3:30PM Monday through Friday Pacific Time.

SHIPPING

Do I have to sign for a package?

Orders do not automatically require a signature for delivery. At their discretion, Fed Ex or the Post Office may leave a delivery on your doorstep.

If you desire to have the Fed Ex package signed for, you should place your order via phone, and ask for the signature-required option. This service costs $4.00. Unfortunately, you can not request this service on an order placed via the Hobby People web page.

Hobby People may require a signature for high-value orders, replacement orders, or addresses with previous delivery issues.

What are Shipping Restrictions?

1. We can not ship orders C.O.D.

2. We can not ship to hotels, motels or other temporary addresses.

3. Orders shipping to PO boxes can only be sent via the US Mail service. Federal Express will not ship to a PO Box.

4. Orders to APO/FPO addresses must ship via the US Mail service, which has size limits on packages. Therefore, some of the larger airplanes or other items may not be able to be sent overseas. Also, items classified as Hazmat or ORM-D can not be shipped to military addresses.

How do I check on a delivery?

When you place an order via the Hobby People website, you will automatically receive an Order Confirmation via email which shows the details of your order. A subsequent automated email will inform you when your order ships and provide a tracking number or delivery confirmation number, if available.

Note: We can not guarantee email delivery. A few popular email hosts may completely block our email to you. Also, please double-check the accuracy of the email address you provide us. If there is a typographical error in the email address, you will not receive emails from us.

You may also check the tracking/delivery status of your order by logging in to your Hobby People account.

Why was my order not shipped right away, and "Next Day" means "tomorrow", right?

All delivery-time estimates are based on travel-time after leaving the warehouse, not from the time of the order. Most expedited orders received by 11:00AM ship the same day, but some orders require additional handling or processing, such as credit card authorizations and billing/shipping address issues, which can delay the shipment by a day or more. Orders received later in the day, and orders with standard shipping, will likely leave the warehouse the next day and then follow the shipper's delivery schedule.

Keep in mind there is normally no holiday or weekend shipping or delivery.

If your order is time-critical, we suggest placing your order over the telephone.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

How do I return an item I don't want?

We will accept new merchandise for return that was purchased from Hobby People within 30 days of receipt.

Please include a copy of your invoice which shows the order number, with a brief note if needed. Please use brown wrapping paper or a shipping box to return the items so as to not affix labels to the item package itself.

Refunds are made via check, unless the original credit car information is provided in the package. For your security, please do not email us credit card information.

Failure to meet these requirements makes it difficult for us to take any action and the goods will be returned to you. We cannot accept C.O.D. packages.

I received a defective item. Now what?

Most items come with a manufacturer's warranty, and therefore those items are not returnable to us for credit or replacement. The manufacturer may also provide technical advice and remedies for operating issues.

If the product is a Hobby People proprietary item (including Cirrus, EF, Global, Hobby Shack, Phase 3, ProPeak, Magnum, XTM or other items that list us as the service department), we suggest you contact Customer Service before taking any action. In many cases the issue can be remedied over the phone.

What are your return policies?

Hobby People only sells new and complete merchandise (unless clearly described otherwise). If you receive an item from Hobby People and it is not what you want, you may return it to us in new condition within 30 days from the purchase date for a refund. Shipping and handling charges are not refundable.

Note that once the interior packaging has been opened or the product is used, installed, or mounted in any way, the manufacturer's warranty takes effect. We are not able to accept returned products in this condition.

The package was damaged in shipping. Now what?

If it appears that your package has suffered damage during shipping, please refuse the delivery if possible. If you have already accepted delivery and then find shipping damage, please call our Customer Service at 714-963-0329 or email service@hobbypeople.net as soon as possible.

Save all packaging material and paperwork; do not throw anything away! If you attempt to return the merchandise yourself, you will jeopardize our chances of making a claim, and you may not receive credit for the return.
