Great little Quad Review by jloftus625
I don't normally write reviews but after what happened the other day with this little Quad I felt I needed to write. I have had this Quad for several months now and it is a great little flier ( flies better in mode 2 than mode 1). The other day I was flying on some property that had a small pond on it. I had been flying for a little while when my battery started to fade out. As I was getting it back to me the battery gave out completely right over the pond. The Quad floated for several minutes in the middle of the pond and then went under. It was under in ten foot of water for over an hour when it was rescued by two people in a small boat. They found it because the lights were still on and they could see it on the bottom. It was retrived from the bottom and I immediately disconnected the battery. I took it home and split apart the two half's and let it dry overnight. The next afternoon I put it back together, slipped in a fresh battery and everything worked perfectly. Fly's and takes video just as well as before the dunking . Kudo,s to thhe manufacture of this little Quad. (Posted on 7/17/14)
OK for price BUT weak arms are a problem. Review by Buddy
My first Quad so I am learning. It doesn't like even mild wind in small spaces. Maybe big field is ok. I have crashed and have broken 2 different arms. They are lite, hollow and cheap. I think a different design would help. ORDER both types (CCW & CW) when ordering Quad because if learning you will need them. I have flown RC airplanes so I do know something about flying. Again the price is the thing. (Posted on 7/13/14)
Great flyer Review by Bignuggets
Most of the reviews are dead on. The poor reviews didn't impress me. This quad flys like a dream. With a little practice youy can get it to fly where you want to. I live in an area that has strong/blustery days which just adds to the excitement. On a rare occasion I flew full throttle into the wind and was actually able to do a loop. I have broken off a couple of rotor arms and got replacements. I use a 3.7v lipo 1200 mAh battery. I can easily get 15 minutes flight time. Of course I must velcro it to the bottom of the quad. Weight does not seem to be an issue. It just a little more throttle to get up to speed. (Posted on 5/29/14)
Good quad for the $$. Review by Hammer strong
I bought this quad to eventually step to a nicer one. I am very satisfied with the performance/price. I am going to let my kids give it a try. It is very simple to fly provided there is zero wind. (Posted on 5/1/14)

excellent for fun Review by mcross
Best learning tool for me on stick control; this quad and
my flight simulator, has improved my r/c flying skills.
I can fly the quad in the winter, in my home no winter down time
on flying. (Posted on 3/21/14)
Great flying little quad. Review by Dusty
Have had a ball with this, my first, quad. Easy to fly and loads of fun demonstrating how it fly's to friends. Only problem is, I can't view any videos using windows 8. It does not recognize the file extension. Working on finding some down load to be able to view them. (Posted on 2/21/14)
Great quadracopter but glitches out Review by Drago
I was flying the quadracopter, went to flip it did like 3 and crashed and snapped the back left bar in half (Posted on 1/29/14)
Great Gadget Review by Rich
I;m not an R/C pilot, mostly I fly control line. This is a really great little quad. Thanks to the digital trim it's easy to fly in lite to moderate wind, and the little camera takes remarkably good pictures. My only complaint is that some of the batteries are way too tight and need a trace of gease to go in and out, (Posted on 1/25/14)
I like it! Review by azzir
I am an experienced hobbyist but this is my first Quad. I have used it a few times and found it to be fun and fairly easy to hover and fly, and I am enjoying the camera. Glad they didn't try to charge me a "hazmat" fee for the lipo, like they are doing now on their other lipo batteries. I have bought many lipos from HP in the past and never been charged any extra fee. Now I have to buy my lipos elsewhere.

Lose the fee, HP. (Posted on 1/19/14)
Awesome for the money Review by Sach
Didn't think this would be that good of a Quad for the price. I was pleasantly surprised. It takes a beating and keeps on ticking. The flip mode is great. Makes you look like you know what your doing. Hobby People keep up the good work. (Posted on 1/18/14)
Great RTF Quad Review by Crazy Bob
Right out of the box this quad worked to perfection. This is a nice sized quad that offers good visibility while being flown high enough to get some excellent pictures looking down.
The night lights work to perfection and offer a whole new perspective to quad flying.

This turned out to be much more than I expected...
Thank you Hobby People

way more fun than I thought Review by Max
I bought this to play with camera and after 10 days of flying, haven't even used the camera. Challenging and fun. I am already looking at another quad so i can give this to my son. Recommend this absolutely. (Posted on 12/31/13)
The Test Review by Oldman Inventor
I bot this in thinking to make one better ,so got this to learn how to fly Quads.
I found you need 4 batteries for about 45 minutes of flying time. So I used Harbor Freight 200 Watt inverter, you hook to a car battery at your flying site plug in the charge quad came with I plug in two. The best to fly low to ground about 7 to 15 feet up when starting to learn no higher start with forward and back once you get that do right to left do not fly to far away stay under 200 feet.
TEST Results. So far had first one fly away at about 300 feet 100 feet off ground. After three hours 8 wrecks the small gear 2 went on the motors easy to replace pop off, put on new one, why they went prop hits ground strains the gear and damage happens.
Fun to fly cheap to repair bot two so far. Hard to learn in any wind use mode 2 control action quicker. Made in CHina. (Posted on 12/31/13)
Worked for 5 min. Review by Tj
I got this quad for x-mas. I am relatively experienced with quads and this was a gift from a friend. It worked for 5 min when it dropped out of the air and I was never able to bind the transmitter to the receiver again. A new receiver (the board) is $50.00. Not worth buying a new board.. This quad should be built to hobby grade expectations.. Such as a way to change out the receiver without replacing the whole board... I will see if I can convert the quad with parts from hobby king or something... (Posted on 12/29/13)
Fun! Review by GQ
This is my first quad and I am happy with it. Fly's well provided there isn't much of a breeze however it has enough power too overcome a light wind. The camera takes good video and makes the quad all the more fun. I have had a few heavy impacts with the ground and one of the booms broke. The boom/motor assembly was easy to replace, inexpensive ($13) and in stock at the local hobby people. (Posted on 12/26/13)

Good Fun Review by DudeQ
I am intermediate fixed wing r/c pilot and am relatively new to heli's/quads with some sim time. I wanted experience with a camera platform as I want to add a camera to UAV I am prototyping. I went to the local HP store and debated getting this or the Heli-Max 1SQ V-Cam. I decided on this as it was cheaper and larger despite the camera isn't as high-res. Salesman said it was same flight time but I now understand they are the same battery and this is heavier so I would expect the 1SQ V-Cam to have longer flight time. Overall I have been very pleased w/ the HP Quad-copter. Charging is quick (~35min), no real setup other than plugging battery in and initiallizing, durable (I've smacked it into the ground several times w/o damage), and relatively easy to fly (it's too big to fly in my condo so I've been flying it outside in a light breeze). As for flying, I'm sure it would be easier indoors or no breeze to keep stable for taking pictures and video. Even in a light breeze it gets blown around a lot requiring constant adjustment. With that, I get sea-sick watching the video. The video is pretty good but not great. Pixel color/quality is pretty good but I would prefer higher resolution for clearer video. Pictures are relatively poor quality and appear equivalent to video frame grabs. Downloading video is straight forward. Alghough, it appears to occassionally break up video into multiple videos that you have to string together with another app. Also, occassionally when flying it would auto-flip on it's own for no apparent reason (my hands were off the controls). Also, I get flight times of ~10-12min which is longer than I expected. Finally, I would get a second battery but the original sits so snuggly in the compartment I'm afraid to pull it out for fear of tearing the connector off. Despite these critical comments, this is a great intro to Quads that will provide hours of fun. I would recommend to others. (Posted on 10/28/13)
Very good, lots of fun Review by RLS
This is my first RC toy. It's a blast! It works best outside where there is more room to leard how to hover and manouver. So far I've crashed a number of times, once got stuck in a tree about 30 feet up, once lost control (out of range) it landed on it's own, right side up, in the middle of a street, not scratched or dinged at all. I need more batteries to keep going longer. I've yet to try the camera. From what I read here I have concerns, but will try on my next flight following the battery recharge. (Posted on 10/26/13)
Not what I expected Review by Norm
After reading the good reviews it seems I must have received a lemon. I have had the Quad for 3 months and I still can only get it to hover in the living rm for about 2 seconds. It will never stay in one spot; no comparison to a coaxial heli. When I received the Quad the led plugs were reversed, one landing led was dim and I had to have the controller replaced ,defective throttle control, Very poor QC,or none at all,
I have been flying model helicopters since 1977 and this Quad, I must say, is a real challenge.I would like to try it out in the dark, the lights would help me find it after the crash. I would sure like to own one of the Quads that received 5 stars.

Good for the most part Review by drenski
I've had this copter for about two months now and I think it's a great flying machine. I purchased this one with the camera and the camera is fun but I've returned it once and now I need another one. I'm not sure what's going on. The camera hasn't been damaged as far as I know, it's just stopped working again. There is a little red light located in the same hole as the blue light under the camera that is blinking which, I'm assuming, means the camera has a problem. This is what happened on my last camera. I was able to get a free replacement camera the first time but I have to pay for this second one even though the copter is still under warranty.

Flying the copter outside can be a bit tricky with a slight breeze but, if you're skilled enough, you can take it off beginner mode and have a lot more control and quicker response times. It's actually kind of fun watching the copter stabilize against the breeze.

Great copter for the money! (Posted on 8/20/13)
Fun Review by donnyb513
I like it. I've bought a smaler one and had a little practice with it first. It drifts a bit in the living room, but really has good stability. It's a nice starter kit to learn. It does need to have at least two batteries. The camera photos only is really good for the price. I shot video but haven't seen it yet. The remote is good but a little tricky to trim. A lanyard would be nice for the radio. It don't want to run on rechargeable batteries. It all good. Can't wait to get more airtime in. Well done! (Posted on 8/20/13)
average Review by curly
I. it does NOT have sound...2: battery is fully enclosed in body, NO air holes, it gets very HOT. 3; contrary to their BS advertisement that anyone can fly it...YES, with practice, practice, practice and a lot of patience...4: In advertisement it shows the guy pushing quad in flight and the quad stays in place, thats BS, I have to constantly have my fingers on the control sticks, release them and you are in trouble. Great out doors I think I had about 250 feet video. Awesome. Kids will love it (Posted on 7/14/13)
Great Flyer Review by RCM
Just got mine today, and could hardly wait to get the battery charged. The battery looked to be the same physical size as the one used in the Blade MQX and I have two of them so I checked and sure enough, the MQX battery fit just fine and has the same plug. They are 15c instead of 25c but seemed to function just fine and felt no warmer after a flight then when used in the MQX. You can use the MQX charger on the HPHELI battery and charge it a lot faster too. As for flying, it is very stable and easy to control. The lights are cool, and the little camera takes surprisingly good stills and video with no jello effect what so ever in video mode. Being able to start and stop both camera modes from the transmitter is a real plus. Probably the second coolest feature is the auto flip mode, and you only need about 4 or 5 feet of altitude to do it, so indoor acrobatics are totally possible. All in all, a great package, and well worth the price. HP just needs to stock more flight batteries! (Posted on 7/11/13)
outstanding Review by Nick
flies great outdoors and the camera is surprisingly good. As you get better and can keep quad steady, the pictures get better. To the guy who wrote that this doesn't fly well outdoors, try again. There are 4 of these on my street in hb and we fly them all day outdoors. get extra batteries. (Posted on 7/4/13)
Two thumbs down. Review by Tacklebox
Not an outdoors "copter" and to big and cumbersome for indoors. (Posted on 7/4/13)
Wow, so much fun! Review by Mike
This Quad is so much fun...great for both beginners and experienced flyers. I even let a neighbor kid fly it and within minutes he had it figured out. It comes ready to fly without any hassles. The LED lights are really cool and allow you to fly it at night almost as easily as during the day! And talk about durable...I have crashed landed quite a few times and it still flies without any problems! Not only is it fun to fly but the camera adds to the excitement...the video far surpasses my expectations (my wife says no spying on the neighbors though, haha ). My opinion...GREAT FUN!!! (Posted on 6/29/13)
incredible Review by Flyer
more fun than anything I have ever done in RC. We have 3 of these on our street and they are incredible. The video is cool too. (Posted on 6/27/13)
This Quad Rotor is Nothing Short Of FANTASTIC! Review by Tim Connell
I just got home with my new Hobby People Quad Rotor with Camera and charged the batteries & installed the batteries in the transmitter. I am an R/C junkie I love almost anything that is Remote controlled. The first thing I did was fly it off the ground and fly it directly over my neighbors roof & I landed it on his roof ! (Because I Could) I then took off his roof and flew it around myself & my neighbor (Who was watching Intently while asking me where did you get that?) I then told him watch this as I pressed the button to start the builtin video camera I then flew it in front of his house taking video of him waving at me and giving me the thumbs up!
We then plugged the included cable directly from the camera on the Quad Rotor into a USB on his computer and downloaded the video and watched it and all I can say is WOW the video quality is absolutely amazing! I have never had this much fun with anything Ive ever owned that was R/C what a blast and it was so easy to fly and it would hover superbly I tried spot landings and landed exactly where I wanted to. Sorry I would love to go on & On but it's getting dark and I wanna go Video Fly some more! Bottom line This thing ROCKS! Thanks Hobby People

Fun Review by Tyler
Saw the video and bought a quad on thursday. I had it flying within 10 minutes after charging. Super easy and challenging at the same time. I flew it outside my house with the lights on last night and its awesome. My neighbors are going to buy some today and we are going to race them. Great fun. (Posted on 6/8/13)
