Product Description
Revell 1/25 Corvette C5-R Compuware
V-8-powered victory.
For many years we have not seen General Motors factory involvement in Corvette® racing, but in 1998 this all changed. With the new C5™ version of the Corvette, the factory decided to officially support a full blown racing program. Built by Pratt & Miller Engineering they set their sights on the most famous endurance race in the world the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The first class win came in 2001 followed by many podium finishes in the years since then. This is the 2003 50th Anniversary version which finished second in class at Le Mans and won the Manufacturers Championship at years end. The C5-R racing program has reestablished the rich history of Corvette racing all the way back to the first Corvette in 1953.
2003 marked the 50th anniversary of the Chevy® Corvette, one of the world's most beloved sports cars. That same year, the Corvette Racing team fought to win American Le Mans Series for the third season in a row. The Prodrive® Ferrari® team proved to be serious competition for Corvette Racing. By the end of the season, however, it was Corvette who emerged victorious. Kit features full engine, chassis and roll cage detail; a one-piece, lift-off body; soft black tires and decals for the 2003 Le Mans version (including interior details).
