Revell 1/25 K.S Pittman Willys Drag Coupe
In the 1960s drag racing had what is commonly known as the “Gasser Wars”. The Gasser class was ruled by the Willys Coupe and competitors like K.S. Pittman. He was one of the first to earn a living in match racing from coast to coast. With victories in the prestigious Nationals K.S. Pittman also set records for gas powered drag coupes. Your typical Gasser in the 1960s was a 41 Willys coupe with a big block Hemi motor. This is the car K.S. Pittman set the record for the quarter mile in under 8 seconds fueled with just gasoline. His Willys had the popular straight axle in the front which helped to weight transfer to the rear. The Gassers were the forerunners of the Funny Cars which were very popular with the fans.
