Revell 1/48 P-51B/C Mustang Early P-51's were initially used primarily for ground attack duties and utilized an Allison engine. Then in 1943, improved P-51's, using the British Merlin engine coupled with a new supercharger began to arrive in England, and the difference was considerable. This new more powerful version gave the Mustang an advantage in air combat and made many air victories possible.
