The tool works for very soft balsa but has trouble with medium to hard balsa. The blades for large scale hinges bind in the machine and the nylon / brass worm gear interface jumps the gear teeth. The tool broke after trying to use the large scale hinge blades. Save your money. (Posted on 11/9/12)
