  1. pretty good! Review by Patrick

this is an overall great car. I´m gonna make this brief, two things wrong, way too heavy and it´s not really "water proof". water proof as in over the body in water. It´s water resistant. (Posted on 8/30/10)

This is a nice alternative to the nitro version especialy if you live in an area where loud noises are not permitted. I find it just as capable as a t-maxx. The only downside is waiting for two batts to charge. Most hopups are interchangable. I would recomend to anyone who wants to get in rc since it is RTR and very easy to run just about anywhere without upsetting the neighbors. (Posted on 8/30/10)

  4. Fantastic RC! Review by James

have had this truck for about a year. It has been a blast. Out of the box, it has unmatched torque and acceleration…particularly with the two speed transmission. It is tough. The stock truck can take a beating!

If you are deciding between nitro (gas) or electric, here are some pointers that may help. E-Maxx pros/cons. Pros – clean, quite, no tuning, ready to go 100% as soon as charged batteries are in, unmatched torque. Cons – slower top speed, heavier, amount of run time is limited by how many charged batteries you have. Nitro Truck pros/cons. Pros – Incredible top speed, great power, can run all day if tuned correctly, loud (may be a con). Cons – Dirty, engine has to be properly broken in out of box, have to tune it (if not tuned properly, it will get aggravating). If it is for a kid, you may favor electric.

If this is your first RC this is a great choice if you have some basic mechanical skills. If you don´t you may want to consider a stadium truck. The big 4x4 trucks have more parts, and if broken a little skill is needed. A stadium truck like the RC10 T4 or Traxxas Rustler are basic in design an easier to fix for a newbie, then get the big truck after a little experience.

If you get this truck, do not skimp on the batteries and charger. Good NiHi batteries – look for the initials GP or IB with at least 3300 Mah, on this web site – Orion and Trinity are nice choices. I would recommend 2 sets (4 batteries packs). Expect to spend at least $30 for a good battery pack. The charger is another wise investment – the Duratrax ones on this website are pretty good ones. The truck will be faster and charges will last longer with good batteries.

The best part about the E-Maxx is the hop-ups. No other electric truck has its selection! When you go brushless, now you have the torque and acceleration of electric with the top speed of nitro! www.rc-monster.com is a great site for really nice brushless hop-ups and helpful folks on the forum during the building process.

I have been shopping Hobby People for 5 years, both in the stores an on-line. Definitely the best service!

  5. The best basher-PERIOD! Review by Eric
    Rating

Have several racers, so I bought the E-Maxx just to have fun. Only weakness is the plastic bulkheads. Aluminum upgrades are only about 30 bucks each plus a bit of wrenching. Only upgrade I´ve made (replaced all plugs with Deans, as with all my vehicles), and this truck is awesome! Lots of speed and wheelies with the stock setup. Get 20 to 25 minutes run time with GP3900 stick packs running full tilt. Goes over almost anything and jumps all day long. With decent driving skills this thing is super durable. You have to really try to break something. Worth every penny! (Posted on 8/30/10)
