Big suprise, exellent frame Review by Helijatek

I also misunderstood the 70 mm fan part, but managed to fit using spacer between the scoop and fuselage. Had to move the 2200 mah 4 cell all the way the front.
I was worried about the belly landing part but 4-5 flights and it is still in one piece.
With the thrust vectoring is a lot more agile. Can fly it in a small park, wihich otherwise is not big enough for other of my 70 mm jet f-18.
The only issue is the difficulty to access the Fan, clean the housing, all the grass end up inside the fan because of the belly land.

After maiden flight review! Review by VaporTrail

Success!
After the flight I decided to let everybody know how the plane flew:
Firstly, being armed with an oversized motor (as noted on the previous post) and fan this little fighter left my hand level and true while taking to the sky with authority. I did notice that I had a very touchy plane on my hands at about 300 ft(got there real fast) and it did not like be pushed around on the transmitter sticks, so I began a VERY long approach for landing trying not to provoke her. I had to eat up a lot of runway to bleed off the ground speed. After an aircraft carrier-style landing on the grass (scoop grabs grass and its heavy) I adjusted the expo from 20 to 80 and lessened the throws from 100 to 50 and now the plane feels much better in the air. This plane does not like recovering from stalls-it will wait for you to start praying first and then THINK about recovering for you.
Overall, the plane is actually an interceptor style fighter that likes straight line sprints and turn and burns. The big five blade 69mm fan sounds awesome and landings require ALOT of area to land her gently.
My setup:
2700 mah Thunder Power 30C battery
60 Amp hobbywing ESC.
BL15 eflite 3600 kv motor with 5mm shaft.
Delta V 69mm five bladed fan fitted inside metal housing and exit cone.
Also, I decided to add a thin piece of very lite veneer sheet wood under the scoop lip and all the way back to protect the foam from its rather hot approaches.
Good Flying! Chris

Squall review and first hand notices. Review by VaporTrail

The tail cone on this plane is a bit flimsy on the stock version. Luckily I had an old fiberglass f-16 cone laying around which fit almost perfect. I also misjudged the "70mm" part of the description as actually meaning 64mm fan and ended up having to mod the plane to fit (or almost fit) a 69mm Delta V metal fan unit and engine housing. This through the CG aft quite a bit and forced me to put much larger batteries in it to get at the CG again. The fan itself is 69mm (actual) and the housing for it took an additional 1.5mm to have to accommodate. The engine I installed is an eflite 15 BL 5mm shaft 3600 KV motor with a 60amp hobbywing ESC. In regards to the control horns of this kit I did not like them at all-they have to be trimmed slightly so not to damage the fragile foam around them while installing them. The plane is very impressive looking while assembled and sitting on the table-looks very fast with that big fan under it in the ram air scoop. Can't wait to maiden it and I will tube it when I get it going and get acquainted with it and its characteristics. (Posted on 6/23/13)
