- JUNK Review by Scotty
after having 6 motors & 2 5-n-1 controllers fail since 6/2014 I'm done with this POS. Plus crash damage from motor/controller failures. Evidently when a motor fails it takes out the controller also. Since the over priced controller is not available at this time I'm done wasting my money. (Posted on 10/14/15)
- Still flying just as good as NEW Review by Eddie
I have performed a loop with this Heli, I have had it laying on it;s side and both maneuvers resulted in a crash, BUT still performed both.
Have hit the Ground WOT, and no damage.
I lost a flybar link once ( how i pulled off the loop ), I also broke the tip of tha tail off ( taped back on )
Because i have flown this heli in ways many say it can't, I have beat it up pretty bad .
I lost one motor, but replaced both, and this Heli still flies like new. I also have lights installed on mine and even fly it in the dark.
As far as one review noted will fly in moderate wind. It will fly in EXTREME Winds. I know where i am is windy all the time, in fact I have flown this heli when I can fly nothing else because of winds.
I see no point in buying any other Heli, the X-2 does perfectly on it's own.
IF there is a weak point on this X2 Heli it is the Brushed motors. BUT cutting a hole in the canopy and I installed screen over it has made the motors last longer. Also changing out a motor is really easy and you back in the air after a few minutes.
One can not go wrong with this X2. I still fly my original one and I also bought a spare just in case. But after a couple years the original is still going strong.
Do not know what others are doing or complaining about, but after tons of crashes putting this Heli through it's paces and making it do what many say it can't, it is still Flying Great.
Buy this heli......you will have a blast, just like i have had.
My 3rd updated review 10/2/2015
Still flying and having FUN with the X2 (Posted on 10/2/15)
- Hanger Queen Review by Disappointed
All the Minuses: Lousy motor design; the motors are beside each other & burn out due to heat build-up. If the motors don't burn out the brushes wear out after 15-20 flights.
If the 5-n-1 controller shorts out, I have had the motor engage when hooking up the battery connector (wear eye protection!)
Flybars that break if you make a rough landing. How about DUAL links on the flybar?? The upper rotor blade grips are designed for dual links. I reinforced the ball fittings with epoxy around the base of the ball.
A mainly black canopy which is hard to see at a distance or in low light conditions. Poor canopy attachment design with rubber gromments that come off. Canopy needs better air flow to the motors.
When the tail motor wears out it will vibrate so bad that the tail rotor blade comes off. Good luck trying to get the heli back if you are fighting a head wind.
I purchased two of these heli's over a 6 month period. Mainly so I could have a spare, while one or the other was down waiting on parts. The part prices are on the high side so be prepared to spend a lot of money if you try to keep this heli in the air. I have probably spent over $500.00 in the purchase price & parts that fail, and have been damaged from a crash when a motor fails. I've moved on to a different heli that is a single rotor without flybar & has good performance in moderate winds. This heli and the replacement parts are 40- 50% less than the X2. I'm tired of throwing my money away on the X2.
Hobby People know all the short comings of the X2 but want to make more money on all the replacement parts.

- Review Update 6/16/15 Review by Eddie
I did lose a motor and had to replace one...( I just did both anyway) It is very simple process to change a motor and well worth doing.
Seems these motors retain heat. SO...I cut out my canopy and installed some screen mesh...I use to fly a couple batteries and the motors were to hot to touch. Now they are hardly warm...I can fly 6 batteries before they get that hot again.....
Makes no difference , ...this coaxial Heli is still the best heli I know of....It is fast, it handles very well and anyone from a novice to an expert would enjoy it.
My very windy location has grounded all my planes, BUT I can still fly the X-2 with no issue.
Excellent Product as i have stated several times and will again. (Posted on 6/16/15)

- STILL FLYING Review by HGhost
This Heli, is still flying, flies just as fast as it ever did, and flies in the wind as strong today as it did when i bought it.
Have crashed it several times, little to no damage. Canopy, and a flybar link and that was all.
Even accomplished a loop ( by accident when lost flybar link ) but still did a loop with a co-axial Heli.
Many complaining about motors, have had no issues thus far, have many hours on them and very hard flying.
Maybe they got a bad batch at one point who knows, but this is still the BEST Co-axial Heli on the market and there is NONE that can do what the X2 does out of the box.
Most Heli's take allot of modifications to get them where the X2 starts out at.
I am not even interested in stepping up from this Co-Axial...it flies and handles that well.
IF HP, would produce more of these and with brushless motors to start with and maybe a tad larger with the same abilities....it would be PERFECT !!

- 5 stars for flying, 2 stars or less due to motor issues. Review by JR
an hours flight time. They should be required to refund peoples money
due to all the issues with the motors. I am considering not to repair it.
Probably pouring good money after bad. It is a shame because it does
fly so well in the wind. I would even spend the money to go to brushless motors but some reviews say that is another set of issues.
