Traxxas XO-1 AWD RTR 1/7 Supercar w/Li-Po BatteriesProduct Review (submitted on March 2, 2012):
After opening the box the car is amazing. Charged the batteries downloaded into my I Pod Touch from Traxxas web site and the Dashboad feature is way cool. You cant really look at the dashboard while driving but the thing has a instant replay that you can look at and see top speeds and motor temp batterie voltage etc. I set it up for 100 mph run and installed two Hyperion 3 cell 45C LIPO's and headed for Pomona Drag strip and set the car on starting line and headed for 1/2 track. 660' I grabbed the throttle very hard and with the track still sticky from weekend event the thing shot off like a bullet, in less than 5 seconds the car had already reached 100 mph it topped out at 112.2 mph. When it went by me I still had it at full throttle and it sounded like an alien spacecraft. The car was very predictable even at that speed. I would not recomend going this on a street surface, the race track did give me much more controll especially at the launch, on the street you would loose the car due to lack of traction. I do drive this car in large parking lots but dissable the 100 mph and reduse to the stock pinion. stock setup will give you 55 or so mph almost instantly. using a pinion 4 teeth larger I can cruse at 70 with no problem. The chasis will load up with grit and gravel in street use. This is by far the best out of the box car I have ever purchased. I am 63 years old and have been doing this sence when you had to use airplane parts to build a car, over 39 years sence 1973. Dont know if im an expert but after building over 50 cars im up there some where. I have every car I have every I have ever purchased and some hand built back in the Ranch Pit Stop and Thorp days in Montclare and raceing 1/8th scale on road at the track there that I have purchased,, an old Tamia Frog, an original Assocciated RC10 with gold tub chassis and shocks and and an old Associated RC 500 1/8th scale on road car and many more. The AO1 is a level10 car but if you are looking for speed I dont think there is any thing that will touch this Traxxas AO1. If anyone wants to ask questions before purchase I will be glad to awnser any questions you may have my e-mail is email@example.com and my name is Ralph T. Traxxas gets an atta boy on this thing from me. If they could figure some sort of whell well to reduse the chassis loading up with gravel man what a deal thet would be the iceing on a great cake. I see some say it is very expensive but concidering that it comes with a VREY good radio, reciever, and two very good LIPOs and a Castle motor and speed controll from hell this is a deal. I have built 10th scale truck kits and after buying motor servos reciever batteries I have spent more than that.
