The Traxxas Slash Pro 2WD Short-Course Truck!

Ready-To-Race® with TQ 2.4GHz Radio System and Power Cell 7-cell NiMH Battery!

Intense Short-Course Racing Action!

The award-winning Traxxas Slash Short-Course Race Truck puts you in the drivers seat for intense fender-to-fender, high-flying off-road action. The full-scale Short-Course Race Trucks embody the spirit of Traxxas R/C with their extreme 900+ horsepower racing engines full-throttle, dirt-roosting power slides, giant suspension travel, and Supercross-style big-air jumps. The Traxxas Slash brings all the action home so you can experience the high-speed head-to-head competition at the track or in your own backyard. The Slash was inspired by the TORC™ (THE Traxxas Off-Road Championship™) Pro 2WD class. The Pro 2WD class specifies rear-wheel drive trucks purpose built to fly over jumps and rip full-throttle through the turns. The Traxxas Slash hangs it out for an all new way to challenge your driving skills. The 4-wheel independent suspension has been carefully tuned to replicate the Pro 2 driving and handling experience as closely as possible. The scale appearing tires provide just the right amount of bite and thick, blinding clouds of dirt roost.

Off-Road Anywhere

When the racing action cools down, the Traxxas Slash is well-equipped to tackle all of your off-track driving adventures. The long travel suspension and oil-filled shocks easily absorb jumps and rough terrain. The unique chassis design provides huge center ground clearance to drive over deep ruts, rocks, and other obstacles that leave ordinary R/C trucks stuck. The tires use advanced tread design and sophisticated rubber compounds to provide incredible grip off-road with enough versatility to also perform well on concrete and asphalt. The fenders cover the tires so you bang against your driving buddies without getting tangled up.

The Revo-spec Torque-Control™ slipper clutch design delivers smooth operation, precise adjustment, and consistent traction control. The bellcrank steering system virtually eliminates bump steer for precise handling and control. A digital steering servo delivers lightning fast response.

Sealed Electronics Extend Your Driving Fun

Traxxas shocked enthusiasts with the release of their exclusive watertight, sealed electronics in the E-Maxx that provided the freedom to drive where you want to drive through water, mud, snow, and other wet-running conditions that wouldn't have been possible before. The proven XL-5 electronic speed control and the mini receiver are sealed against the elements giving you the freedom go places you might not have thought possible. It opens up a whole new world of adventure and fun. Wet muddy tracks are no problem for the Slash. The battery compartment makes it easy to install batteries and the clever design makes it quickly adaptable for either 6 or 7-cell running (hump packs or stick packs).

Modified Muscle

The Titan 12T 550 modified motor is designed for incredible mod-motor power output with virtually maintenance-free operation, and long-lasting performance. The Titan 12T 550 motor's integrated cooling fan pulls cool air through the motor to keep temperatures down. Airflow is routed through vent tunnels molded in the motor plate. A cooler running motor equates to faster speeds, longer runtime, and extended motor life. The XL-5 Electronic Speed Control offers high current handling, EZ-Set® one-button setup, and smooth high-frequency control. Three drive profiles, low voltage detection, thermal shutdown protection, gold-plated connectors, and incredibly low resistance are all features you might expect to only be available on an expensive replacement ESC. As today's batteries store more and more energy inside their cells, traditional battery connectors could no longer keep up. The included patented Traxxas High-Current Connector opens the door for unrestricted current flow.

Precision 2.4GHz Control Radio System

With the TQ™ 2.4GHz radio system, you just switch on a drive. There are no channels or frequencies to manage, so the focus is on having fun. The TQ’s ergonomic design is comfortable for all-day driving, and its sleek lines are enhanced by an internal antenna that is impervious to damage.

Training Mode™

Traxxas' exclusive patented Training Mode let's everyone get in on the racing action. Just press a button to limit full-throttle power to 50%. This allows young or new drivers to safely develop their control skills before unlocking full power to the mighty Titan 12T motor. The Slash is perfect for drivers at all experience levels. Training mode even makes it easy to hand the transmitter over to your friends who have never driven a radio controlled truck before.

Brushless Ready

The Traxxas Slash is built for extreme Velineon™ brushless horsepower (sold separately). Simply bolt it in and 7-cell speed jumps to 40+mph. Add 11.1V Traxxas Power Cell LiPo batteries and you have the potential to double your speed. Bigger roosts and longer hang-time are right at your fingertips. The included steel transmission gears, full ball bearings, and high-quality metal turnbuckle links are the winning setup for brushless durability. The factory-installed planetary differential is Traxxas-tough with hardened steel gears that never need adjusting! Perfect for long-lasting, all-day fun. Accessory battery hold downs are available for use with large capacity LiPo battery packs that can extend speed and run time. Compare the durability and features to others and you'll see that only Traxxas makes them truly brushless ready.

XL-5 Waterproof Electronic Speed Control

Designed and engineered by Traxxas, the XL-5 Electronic Speed Control handles the elements while smoothly supplying power to the motor. This high-performance ESC is packed with impressive specifications that are normally only found on more expensive high-end replacement units. The XL-5 features a completely waterproof design, three throttle profiles, low voltage detection, Thermal Shutdown Protection, 4-8 cell NiMH and 2-cell LiPo compatibility, and built-in BEC. High frequency operation combined with ultra-low resistance make the XL-5 an efficient and ultra-smooth fully proportional speed control. An exclusive feature on the XL-5 is the patented Training Mode™. This profile reduces the overall power output of the XL-5 by 50% making it easier for young or new drivers to develop their control skills before unleashing full-power operation. The XL-5 is manufactured by Traxxas to ensure the highest level of quality and support.

Precision 2.4GHz Control

With the TQ™ 2.4GHz radio system, you just switch on a drive. There are no channels or frequencies to manage, so the focus is on having fun. The TQ’s ergonomic design is comfortable for all-day driving, and its sleek lines are enhanced by an internal antenna that is impervious to damage.

Traxxas Power Cell Battery Included!

Slash includes a genuine Power Cell Battery Pack to make sure you experience all the performance that's been engineered into your Traxxas model. Power Cell packs are optimized for free-flowing power and maximum punch with premium quality, low-resistance cells; flexible, silicone-jacketed 12-gauge wire; heavy-duty welded tabs; and Traxxas' patented, high-output, gold plated, high-current connectors. Seven cells give Slash 8.4 volts of motivation for maximum speed, and precision assembly with attractive, individually wrapped cells and clear overwrap complete the Traxxas Power Cell package.

Traxxas High-Current Connectors

The XL-5 electronic speed control comes equipped with the revolutionary patented Traxxas High-Current Connectors. Designed to handle high-current applications, Traxxas Connectors effortlessly funnel the battery's total power to the electronics keeping things running cool and at full capacity.

Digital High-Torque Waterproof Steering Servo

A race truck needs a powerful steering servo for responsive performance. The waterproof steering servo (#2075) uses O-ring seals to keep the fun going when things get wet. The Traxxas digital high-torque servo provides precise steering authority and speed for wheel-to-wheel racing in the back yard or on the track.

Sealed Watertight Receiver Box

A ground-breaking new sealed receiver box is another Traxxas innovation that puts the Traxxas Slash Short-Course Truck in a league of its own. The antenna and servo wires route neatly through a special water-tight seal. A custom blue O-ring seals the receiver box to protect the receiver from water. The receiver can be removed for service and aftermarket receivers can be installed without losing the sealing properties of the box. An aluminum antenna crimp nut looks good and holds the antenna tube securely in place. Patent pending.

Securely Mounted Electronics

The ESC, receiver, and steering servo are screwed to the chassis for ultimate mounting security. There's no servo tape to loosen over time from dirt, heat, water, and collisions.

Long-Wheelbase Chassis

Designed from the ground up, the Slash chassis features a 13.2" wheelbase while offering over 3.5 inches inches of ground clearance. The chassis includes drain holes and a battery tray channel for routing servo wires to the receiver. Optional electronic speed control mounting bosses are incorporated into the chassis, making it easy to upgrade to the Extreme Power of the Velineon Brushless Power System. For race track competition, a transponder mount is located under the front shock tower when every second counts.

Adjustable Battery Hold Down

The unique chassis design allows the use of 6-cell stick or side-by-side style battery packs and 7-cell stick, side-by-side, and hump battery packs for unmatched versatility. The extended chassis enables the various battery packs to be positioned forward or backward for front/rear weight bias tuning. An optional battery hold down kit is available for use with oversized batteries.

Chassis Nerf Bars and New Body Mounts

Integrated chassis nerf bars offer side body support for door to door racing action. Ruggedly designed body mounts incorporate reinforced washers to support the short course truck body during big-air jumps and high-speed runs.

Scale Front and Rear Bumpers

Engineered to handle the abuse of bumper to bumper bashing, the scale tube-style bumpers are designed to absorb brutal impacts while looking the part of a true short course race truck.

Licensed BFGoodrich® Mud-Terrain™ T/A® Tires

Realistic looks, realistic performance. Slash's officially licensed tires have excellent grip in the dirt and just the right amount of slide on pavement and are mounted and pre-glued on impressive 2.2" satin-finish wheels.

Adjustable Steel Turnbuckles

Factory fitted, heavy-duty steel turnbuckles allow camber and toe tuning. The Slash is completely adjustable right out of the box to fine tune handling agility and high-speed performance. Captured rod ends provide unmatched durability and they simply won't pop off.

Metal Gear Magnum 272™ Transmission

The Slash's Magnum 272 transmission is assembled with all metal gear internals riding on ultra-smooth sealed ball bearings. Combined with the smooth 48-pitch gears, power is delivered to the rear wheels via durable telescoping U-joint driveshafts for maximum efficiency and articulation. The bulletproof Torque-Control slipper clutch and metal gear Magnum transmission are ready to handle any power system upgrade including the Extreme Power of the Velineon Brushless Power System.

Steel-Composite Planetary Gear Differential

The composite Traxxas planetary gear differential features a steel ring gear with a nylon housing for long life. It uses hardened steel internal gears for maximum strength during rigorous off-road bashing. This type of differential requires virtually no maintenance and its efficient design puts maximum tire-shredding torque to the wheels.

Revo®-spec Torque-Control™ Slipper Clutch

Advanced Revo technology is utilized to manage the massive power from the Titan 12T motor. The Torque-Control slipper clutch uses special semi-metallic friction material and finned aluminum alloy pressure plates to dissipate heat and provide consistent traction control. The semi-metallic friction material remains stable across a wide temperature range to provide smooth, linear engagement you can count on, run after run. Spur gears can be removed and replaced without altering the slipper adjustment.

Motor Mount with Integrated Cooling Channels

The sealed gearbox protects the transmission components from dirt and rocks. The molded motor plate includes finned cooling channels where the motor mounts to the motor plate. The cooling channels work in conjunction with the internal Titan 12T motor fan to pull air through the motor for superior cooling.

Heavy-Duty Yokes with Telescopic Driveshafts

The Slash features heavy-duty drive yokes which are designed to provide maximum durability to withstand extreme power. The slider driveshafts are extremely durable, and they allow greater articulation for increased suspension travel.

Included Optional Pinion Gear

The Slash reaches its blistering 30+mph top speed on-road using the optional 23-tooth pinion gear (included) and a 7-cell 8.4V battery pack (sold separately). Out of the box, the installed 19-tooth pinion gear is just right for all-around, on- or off-road action.

Hex Hardware

Pro-quality, high-grade, metric hex-drive hardware is used throughout for extra strength, and easy maintenance and repair. The black-oxide rust-resistant finish provides a high tech look and feel.

Heavy-Duty Hub Carriers & Steering Blocks

The Slash features heavy-duty ball bearing front steering blocks and rear hub carriers. They utilize large 5x11mm ball bearings for long-term precision performance, smooth operation, and increased durability.

Rubber-Sealed Ball Bearings

Precision rubber-sealed bearings offer the ultimate in super low-friction performance and maximum protection in dusty environments. They are used in all exposed locations on the truck and are virtually maintenance free.

Oil-Filled Ultra Shocks™

The Slash's oil-filled Ultra Shocks utilize X-ring technology for a perfect seal and super-smooth performance. They are fully tunable with a wide range of oils, springs, and pistons. Features include pressure bladders for air/oil separation and spring clips to precisely change the ride height and spring pre-load. They can be renewed in minutes with our inexpensive rebuild kits.

Progressive Rate Powder Coated White Springs

The race-tuned progressive rate springs soak up the small bumps as a softer spring would, but when the conditions get rough and the jumps get big, the progressive rate springs step up to the challenge by getting firmer as the suspension is compressed. The long-lasting, white powder coated finish sets the Slash apart from the pack.

Bellcrank Steering

High-performance bellcrank steering system minimizes bump steer to increase cornering stability.

Race Replica ProGraphix® Painted Bodies

No need for a paint or sticker session; Slash rolls out of the box ready for action with a factory-finished and mounted ProGraphix body and decals already applied for you, so its Ready-to-Race®. Traxxas Slash Prographix bodies are available in race replica versions: Mark Jenkins Edition (Traxxas® #25), Rob MacCacharen Edition (Traxxas® #21), Chad Hord Edition (BOSS Snowplow #9), & Robby Gordon Edition (SPEED Energy #7).

Best bashing truck out there Review by Caleb
Rating
If you are new to RC or you looking for a good reliable RC car, this truck is meant for you. First off, this car is a tank, even after 9 months of beating the heck out of the slash I only spent $8.50 in repair parts.

Second, Considering the quality and performance of the truck, the slash is really kinda cheap especially around the holidays because i bought mine for $200 instead of $250 around Christmas.

But if you are looking for the absolute best performance from this truck, I advise that you upgrade: To a brushless motor, get a Lipo battery, rear shocks, and rear tires. My set up for my Traxxas slash is: the 3700kv castle creations sidewinder SCT edition, a 5000mah 7.4 lipo battery, rear pro-line power stroke(with 40wt shock oil), Gladiators and Badlands pro-line tires.

To summarize all of this up, the Traxxas slash is pretty much built for serious hard core bashing and is simple to use. At the price it is, I believe that i got more than what i paid for in the first place and i'm glad i got it.

This is our 1st professional RC truck and it is incredible. We have been using a newbright car we bought from Target and it was slow, didn't turn very easily, and was only for the road. The slash is everything the newbright car isn't, fast, tough, and can jump our skateboards ramps easily. The only thing we still need, another slash. (Posted on 3/20/14)

Great Deal For the Price Review by Master Chief
Rating
The Traxxas Slash 2WD was my first off road RC truck. The deal comes with a great starter pack, but not as good if you want to race more on a track or go really fast. For example the battery pack is ok as a start but it has two problems. First it takes really long to charge. Second it doesn't last really long, if you are going fast most of the time (not in training mode). The truck comes with a Titan 12T 550 brushed motor which isn't as good as a brushless motor, but it certainly gives the Slash enough power to go 30+. Also the truck comes brushless ready, a good thing if you ever want to upgrade to a more powerful motor (A 1/10 brushless motor is $200, alomost the price of the truck). Lastly I think this is a very good truck for anyone who is starting out because of the truck's strong design.
Just bought mine today and loved the price since it was my own saving money, might want to get a roll cage and attach a camera. And am looking forward to racing against others at a track close by.

bought 2 slashs and they are great. The trucks were the #1 item on the kids lists, and santa brought them. Kids were using them and 1 of the trucks failed right away, while 2nd truck kept going like a timex watch. We will head to lake forest today for help in getting truck back running. good basher and has a lot of aftermarket support Review by Bryan
Rating
The Traxxas Slash was my first Hobby grade RC and I have been using over a year. In stock form it's set up for bashing and realistic handling but if you want to use it on a track, just by Losi springs, change shock oil, shock mounting, and new tires and you have a totally different vehicle. My servo went out because of a hard jump and I'm currently using the Castle Sidewinder SCT combo on 3S and everything stock held up pretty good. Even though it says it's waterproof, the screws will rust and you have to take apart your bearings after going in wet conditions. Aftermarket support is available anywhere and I've seen people build Slashes using only aftermarket parts. The high COG chassis isn't bad and you can spend $50 for that to be taken care of. When this thing is properly tuned it can be very competitive. I had an awesome experience with this truck. I recommend it to anyone getting into the hobby:) (Posted on 2/22/13)

Ok It's been about 14 years since I bought my last hobby grade rc car and the slash not only met my standards but exceeded them. I bought it a week ago and ran the snot out of it and no problems yet. My only complaint is that there is no longer a hobby people store or a local track near Santa Monica. Other than that this rc car is tops, I do sujest getting at least another battery and a faster charger to shorten the charging time and maximise the run time. (Posted on 8/20/12)

JUNK shocks. super top heavy and rolls over very easy. great linkage though!!! front caster blocks and steering hubs break so had to go to rpm to fix that problem. not a fan of the 2075 servo as i have had to rebuild it twice. went to a metal gear hi tec servo. hate the traxxas speed controls. allways loosing calibration and buttons have broke on everyone i have owned. if you strip a gear in the tranny its so time consuming to change it out. not a very easy tranny to work on. Not really as good as people are saying. (Posted on 9/18/11)

Perfect Product for begginers or experienced drivers Review by Traxxas Man
Rating
This car is perfect for new beginners looking to get into the hobby or for more experienced drivers looking for a better car. I got mine for christmas and I have had no trouble with it. My friend has an Sc10 and we race each other all the time. The Traxxas Slash is comparable if not better than the Sc10. If you buy this package i would recommend that you buy a better charger. The one that comes with the package is on the cheap side. This is a great car and will compete with any other electric car on the track. (Posted on 1/22/11)

Great Track Basher - Included 2.4ghz radio and 7 cell battery make it a steal for the price. Review by Don

This is a great all-around backyard basher as well as a track-worthy racing truck. I have owned various RC cars and trucks throughout the years so I have experience in the various brands and models that have been in the market. I recently bought a Slash for a friend´s 11 yr old son after researching the current line-up of 1/10 RTR trucks. This was his first high-performance RTR RC truck. He has been taking it to the local RC off-road track once or twice a week. He also runs it around the house when we can´t get to the track.
So here are my thoughts after the first couple of months.

Bullet-proof. It has performed flawlessly. Charge up the battery, turn it on, and GO! It is amazing that he can crash into a concrete wall at 20+ MPH, back it up, and keep on racing. (although this is not recommended) He has flipped it, crashed it, bashed it into other cars/trucks, and it just keeps on screaming for more. After over 10-12 trips to the track he has not had one major breakage.

2.4ghz... radio means no more worrying about other cars running the same channel. It is also much more responsive than the AM radios. This is a must for anyone running at a local track. The fact that a decent quality 2.4ghz radio is included with this truck makes it a real winner!

Motor performance is top-notch. This is one of the fastest and most efficient stock motors on a RTR 1/10 truck. It has plenty of power at the starting line and in the straight-a-ways yet it is easy to control in the tight corners. There is no need to upgrade until you want to get into more advanced racing.

Suspension performance is also great. Out-of-the-box, this thing is tuned to rock. Some people warned me about the Slash´s tendency to flip over sideways in the turns. I noticed this slightly on hard pavement but it has not been an issue on the clay track. The grip of the suspension and tires is much actually better than I would have expected from a stock RTR truck. I recommend leaving the stock settings until you run it and see what needs to be adjusted for your racing style. Minor adjustments in the ride height through the flexible suspension settings can make a big improvement. Just simply adding or removing the shock spacers is all you need to dial in the suspension for most of your needs.

Quick Tips: Read the Manual! Buy a couple extra 7-cell batteries. Buy a Peak battery charger to charge the batteries in 30-45 minutes. Let the motor and batteries cool down between runs. Clean the truck with compressed air after each day, or night, of running. Clean out the dust/dirt from the motor and under the plastic the slipper clutch cover after running in dusty conditions. Check for loose screws on the suspension, frame, and rear wheel hubs after every battery change or two. A quick visual check will keep you running and save you from replacing parts that will occasionally back-out on you. Eventually you might choose to use the temporary blue lock-tite on screws that continue to back-out but you don´t need to do it right away if you just check them periodically. This happens on any RC vehicle due to high-speeds and inevitable crashes.

Overall this truck has worked so well that I bought another one for myself. Now we both race at the track. Still no broken parts or mechanical failures! Way to go Traxxas! I give the Slash 5 stars for being an overall great value and solid, well-built RTR racing machine that has everything you need in the box! (Posted on 8/24/10)
