nice little scale bird Review by Ed

easy to build, and nice flyer. instructions are lacking, but good build (Posted on 1/31/16)
Do not buy this aircraft. Review by Bill

This ARF is a total waste of money. The build quality is exceptionally poor and the covering is a sticky back material that is impossible to repair. It goes together quick but this kit is simple a pig with lipstick. I'm not sure why it even deserves 1 star. (Posted on 11/4/15)
Marginal Product Review by Bob

Fairly poor quality even for a modern day ARF. I would definitely not recommend a VQ product particularly given that Horizon and the likes have similar priced products with much better quality. (Posted on 9/17/15)
Don't buy it. Review by Mr. T

Coming out on the box this model is good looking. However when I tried to clean it up I found the covering is painted on and cleaning it. Striped the paint. My kit did not contain a the wire for the control surfaces, nor did it have the rear wheel.

I buy and build several planes a year and sometimes buy project planes that need rebuilt. So I am not a nubee. The was a quarter inch gap between the wing and the main body, but the wing was solid.

I put E-flite retracts, a power 870 KV Power 25, 50 amp Castel ESC and new HS 82MG servos. The plane was very twitchy and dropped the win in to tip stalled as I was trying to trim it. I tried diving out of the stall but no joy! I even tried accelerating out which flattened the spin.

I called to get a new cowl with the idea of rebuilding and improving but no replacement parts so when you break something its ready for the trash! (Posted on 7/27/15)
Fast, aerobatic, great scale appearance Review by rcer15

I'm running on a 2200 to 2650 mAh 4 cell to get around 325 watts of power. After wiping out gear, now hand-launch. Fun to fly, now one of my current favorites. (Posted on 6/30/15)
great looking, great flyer Review by Troy

Major assembly Issues Review by George
Rating
I love P-47's! This one looks good! Construction and ease of assembly are two completely different matters! No correct P-47 prop spinner hub? The control horns for ailerons are not correct for this assembly? Why have a two piece, two sided control horn assembly for the ailerons with NO top-of-the-wing aileron access for proper assembly? I had to cut the left aileron top covering to install the control horn!? No additional covering was supplied to cover the damage? Not actually with the plane, two of the recommended digital servos luckily didn't work straight out of the box? The plane would have crashed on the first flight if they failed in the air! I had to cut out the wing fixed landing gear mounting holes to fit the fixed gear. Why include fixed gear with the model and then not construct the wing with the correct fixed gear openings? I know, they want to sell electric retracts! Overall for the money I have purchased aircraft with better balsa/ply construction and easier assembly design features (Posted on 2/17/15)
Kudos Review by Bungee Bob

This has become my favorite airplane. At 3.5 lbs. with retracts it has low wing loading, and lands perfect. I use a .25 sized electric motor on 4-s with a 12-6 prop. The fit and finish is excellent. The degree of prefabrication is way better than most ARFs. The beautiful printed covering sagged a bit in the 100 degree sun, but gets tight again when the plane gets moving, or is in the shade, and sags less and less each time out. Also, the price is right. 5 stars. (Posted on 12/1/14)
Quite annoyed, but it's not the plane's fault Review by Bacca Rhode

This is more of a gripe to the Hobby People folks than a review. Hobby People needs to advertise this airplane as electric only or provide instructions on how to convert it to glow. According to the manual, the distance from the fire wall to the prop hub is 49 mm. With an engine mount plus a .15 or .25 size engine, this just won't work and I'm not pleased because I wouldn't have purchased the plane if I had known glow engines wouldn't fit.
Other than that huge deal, its a beautiful plane. The canopy is a little crooked and the covering at the hatch/fuselage interface is a little out of alignment but that's not a biggie. Casual observers won't notice. The partially sheeted wing is one piece and seems quite sturdy. Retracts are part of the planes future if I keep it. Low parts count. 3 stars because I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt (Posted on 6/10/14)
