A kit is an unassembled airplane, either wood, foam, or other material, which requires the modeler to build the plane using detailed instructions and/or plans. These are projects that generally take a detail-oriented, patient, and creative individual as the time to build is approximately 20-40 hours for the average model. There are huge learning opportunities in the building process, and generally speaking, the model builders are the most knowledgeable as well.
