A kit is an unassembled airplane, either wood, foam, or other material, which require the modeler to build the plane using detailed instructions and/or plans. These are projects that generally take a detail oriented, patient, and creative individual as the time to build is approximately 20-40 hours for the average model. There are huge learning opportunities in the building process, and generally speaking, the builders of models are the most knowledgeable as well. These airplanes are not designed for radio control, but rather for individuals who want to build a plane for display and enjoyment. |
